Hey, I’m Kelsey.
Counselor. Educator. Coach.
Counseling
My approach to counseling centers on creating a safe space for deep healing and transformation. I work with individuals and couples, both adults and adolescents, utilizing trauma-informed practices that acknowledge how past experiences shape current challenges. Drawing from an array of therapeutic backgrounds, I help clients understand the intergenerational patterns they've inherited, empowering them toward cycle breaking that disrupts harmful dynamics. Each therapeutic journey is grounded in evidence-based techniques while honoring the unique processing needs of every client. Whether addressing relationship difficulties, personal transformation, or healing wounds, my practice integrates both proven methodologies and compassionate presence to support clients as they navigate their path toward wholeness and renewed possibility.

Safe and Sound Protocol
If you’ve tried traditional therapy but still feel stuck in patterns of stress, overwhelm, or disconnection, SSP may be a helpful addition to your healing process. Because it works directly with the nervous system, many people find that it enhances other forms of therapy by creating a foundation of safety and regulation.
Regulate Your Nervous System and Improve Connection
If you often feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from yourself and others, your nervous system may be stuck in a survival state. The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a powerful, research-backed listening therapy designed to help retrain your nervous system, allowing you to feel safer, more grounded, and more present in your daily life.
FAQs
-
Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the SSP is based on Polyvagal Theory, which explores how our nervous system responds to stress, safety, and connection. Many of us—especially those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, or neurodivergence—live in a state of heightened alert without realizing it. This can lead to chronic stress, emotional reactivity, and difficulty connecting with others.
SSP works by using specially filtered music to send cues of safety to your nervous system. Over time, this helps shift your body out of survival mode, making it easier to experience calm, focus, and connection in your everyday life.
-
The Safe and Sound Protocol is used by therapists, educators, and healthcare professionals to support a variety of challenges, including:
Anxiety and Depression: Helps regulate emotions and reduce persistent worry.
Trauma and PTSD: Supports nervous system healing after overwhelming experiences.
Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, Sensory Sensitivities): Improves sensory regulation, social engagement, and focus.
Chronic Stress and Burnout: Helps reset the nervous system for better resilience and relaxation.
Learning and Developmental Challenges: Enhances attention, auditory processing, and overall cognitive function.
If you often feel stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, SSP may help you experience more ease, clarity, and emotional balance in your life.
-
The SSP program involves five hours of listening to specially designed music over the course of several weeks. Each session is short—about 15 minutes per day—and is designed to be done in a calm, distraction-free environment.
The Process:
Initial Consultation: We discuss your goals, challenges, and how SSP may support you.
Personalized Listening Plan: You’ll receive a customized SSP plan based on your needs.
Guided Listening Sessions: You’ll listen to the SSP music through the MyUnyte app, gradually building tolerance.
Check-in Sessions: Regular support to track progress, adjust pacing, and provide guidance.
Final Integration Session: We discuss changes, insights, and next steps for continued healing.
Many people report feeling calmer, more connected, and more emotionally balanced after completing SSP, though results vary based on individual needs.
-
One round of the SSP program is $775 and includes:
1 Intake Session – An interview assessing your needs and eligibility, including testing and diagnostic assessments.
3 Check-in Sessions – Ongoing support and adjustments to ensure best case nervous system regulation.
1 Final Integration Session– Wrap-up and next steps.
Subscription to the Unyte App and licensing – Access to the SSP listening library.
If you would like a secondary round, which many benefit from, the cost is $250 and must be completed within the same year of the Unyte licensing fee.
